Tell us more about you and your journey with Anthropologie.
I just celebrated my 7 year anniversary at the beginning of March! I started in the Reston, VA store as an Intern the summer of 2009 falling even more in love with the brand than I already had been! I held several different roles within that location from part-time sales associate to visual sales associate, manager in training, assistant apparel manager, home department manager and finally apparel department manager. In 2014, I moved to the Annapolis, MD location continuing as the Apparel Department manager there for a little over a year before spending a 7 month period at the Tysons Galleria location. It was from there that I got my most recent promotion to Visual Manager this March!
When I’m not at work I love to bake, I’m not really a sweet tooth but it brings me joy to cater to other people’s love of sugar! I am also the person in the store blaring Disney music until we open, much to other’s dismays! I think it’s growing on them though.
What is your favorite aspect of Anthropologie?
I love the community aspect of the Anthropologie culture. Everyone fosters the same visions; to delight and inspire our customer and to see those come to life through each store's various interpretations of each season's themes is amazing! I have met so many of my closest friends through Anthropologie and because of this we are more of a family than co-workers.
What is your favorite Anthropologie store and why?
Having worked in several stores, it's hard to pick just one as they all have a special place in my heart. If I have to pick one it would be the Reston, VA store. It was the first store I ever worked in as well as the longest, having been there for 5 years of my career with the company.
Why did you choose to work for Anthropologie?
I first discovered Anthropologie through the catalog, I can remember the first time I ever saw it, I became obsessed and as soon as I could I got on the website to subscribe so I could get my monthly dose of beauty. When I was in college I discovered that Anthropologie had an internship program and I knew that I had to be a part of it! Getting a behind the scenes glance of how this unimagined experience is created within the stores was an opportunity I couldn't pass up! Once I started I loved the comradery I saw on a daily basis, I couldn't wait to join in on the fun permanently!
Wanderlust keeps us inspired... Do you have any recent favorite travels to share?
I recently went on a week long road trip with 3 of my good friends traveling in a big circle within the eastern half of the country. We started in Richmond, VA and traveled to Charleston, SC moving through Georgia stopping in Savannah and Atlanta then on to Nashville, TN with the final destination being Indianapolis, IN where two of my friends were attending a wedding. It’s amazing to me how different our country is even within as little as a couple hours distance!
