From customer and part-time Sales Associate to Visual Manager and Store Manager, learn more about Aissa's 9-year journey with Anthropologie.
Tell us more about you and your journey with Anthropologie.
I am an optimist and a cheerleader. I have an equal amount of passion for people and fashion. Bringing out the best in people and making them happy makes my heart sing. I started my journey with Anthropologie in 2008 when I was onboarded as a part-time Sales Associate at the Huntsville, AL location. Since then, I have taken on various roles. Within my first year, I was promoted to the Senior Sales Associate position, and later to the Assistant Selling Manager. I took on Merchandiser in 2009, Selling Manager in 2010, Visual Manager in 2012, and I've been with my current role as the Store Manager since 2014.
What is your favorite aspect of Anthropologie?
It really is all about the people – our colleagues and customers.
What is your favorite Anthropologie store?
Hands down the Huntsville store. I just celebrated my 9th Anthroversary. The store is my second home and the team is my extended family. I have met some of the most inspiring, genuine people, and have made life-long friends through those doors.
Why did you choose to work at Anthropologie?
Before getting to know the culture, it was the product that made me want to be a part of the company. My first Anthro experience was at the Dunwoody location in Atlanta back in 2006. I purchased a dress that drew me into the store from the window display. After learning more about the company, it is the culture that keeps me working for the brand. A brand that fosters creativity and values their people.
Wanderlust keeps us inspired… Do you have any recent favorite travels to share?
I was born and raised in the Philippines, and last summer we had an opportunity to take a family trip to attend my brother's wedding. Reconnecting with my roots, exploring new places, and meeting like-minded creatives (even Anthro fans) from across the globe is always inspiring.
Anything else that you’d like to share?
A quick THANK YOU: To my store team for continuing to inspire and challenge me to be a better leader. To my mentors, for believing in my capabilities and guiding me as I navigate through multiple challenges that have helped me grow along the way.
