Tell us more about you and your journey with Anthropologie.
I have been a professional artist, designer and founder of the Experience Collective, an installation and fabrication studio for the past six years. I joined Anthropologie as a Sales Associate in Atlanta at Lenox after graduating with honors from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Five months later, I became the Display Coordinator to open the new Anthropologie in Savannah. After two years, I was excited to return to Atlanta to tackle the visual challenge of our Lenox Square location, one of the Southeast’s largest Anthropologies.
What is your favorite aspect of Anthropologie?
Hands down the collaboration and freedom!
Being constantly surrounded by a dynamic group of people, we are continually sharing a thoughtful, creative dialogue to push the boundaries of what an imaginative retail experience can be. Remarkable things come from that talent infused with the freedom to create and innovate with materials and ideas.
What is your favorite Anthropologie store?
Lenox is by far my favorite store. It’s a massive, wide-open space that spans 10,000+ sq. ft. with tall industrial ceilings complete with bulky air ducts, goosenecks and skylights. It’s Anthropologie’s 17th store and it’s one of the few stores still in its original location. It’s a platform for endless opportunity and thinking big. From a design standpoint, it’s a total creative challenge, which is why I love it! The vast open floor plan demands endlessly large and immersive displays to fit the scale of the space and provides endless challenge to visually separate yet coordinate each area of the store.
Why did you choose to work at Anthropologie?
Go in with everything you’ve got is an approach I take everywhere I go. At Anthropologie, it’s just that. We’re enthusiastic about what we do and we give it everything we’ve got. I’ve always believed if you are working on something exciting that you really care about, you don’t have to be pushed. The vision pulls you. You do what you love and great work comes from it. We are challenged to think differently, be solution oriented and elevate our presentation to create the most unique experience possible. This is why I choose to work at Anthropologie.
Wanderlust keeps us inspired… Do you have any recent favorite travels to share?
In November, I drove up the California coast in a classic VW, venturing from Half Moon Bay through San Francisco, Sausalito, Muir Woods to Point Reyes. It was dramatic, soaked in light, and reflective. Time slowed. There’s something so powerful about the Pacific and the dramatic coastlines. The groovy city, thoughtful culture and there’s just so much fresh air!
This trip was extra special- I got engaged in the center of a circle of ancient redwood trees! It was truly a dream. Minutes later, we found hundreds of thousands of ladybugs covering the trees and shrubs; it was an extraordinary discovery and a sign of infinite good luck!
This summer I’ll be exploring Colorado and Cuba!
